"Just wanted to say a BIG thank you for being a lovely teacher. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and am very eagerly looking forward to the next class.
Best regards, Ayana."
At the age of five I started taking classical ballet classes. In my teens I switched to oriental dance and later to jazz and salsa.
By practising ballet, jazz, pilates, yoga  and oriental bellydance I keep my body flexible and in shape.

In the 90's I specialized in oriental bellydance. Since then - and still doing so to further my training - I regularly attend bellydance workshops, private training and masterclasses with international bellydance performers including Hossam and Serena Ramzy (Egypt/UK), Randa Kamel (Egypt), Dalila of Cairo (Egypt), Adam Basma (USA), Jillina (USA), Rachel Brice (USA), Sadie (USA), Sandra (USA) and Sonia (USA). After studying Indian, Libanese and Egyptian techniques I developed my own elegant bellydance style.

I work for companies and individuals in the Netherlands and abroad. During my career I performed in several theatres (including Royal Theatre Carré in Amsterdam) and danced in Dubai, Egypt, Oman, Turkey, India and USA.
As a volunteer I organized bellydance workshops and performances for 'Stichting Europa Kinderhulp'.

In my teaching I emphasize technique and posture while building flexibility and strength. The basic bellydance techniques are easy to follow. Regardless of age, figure or cultural background anyone can learn bellydance.

I hold bachelor's and master's degrees in communications, economics, coaching and change management. During my master thesis (change management) I proved the positive effect of bellydance on people's vitality. In addition I am a Polestar® pilates trainer and yoga teacher (RYT200) which contributes to a conscious and safe way of training and teaching.
